黎明即起，洒扫庭除，要内外整洁。
Morning immediately wake up, wash & sweep house, must inside & outside clean.
既昏便息，关锁门户，必亲自检点。
When evening then rest, lock all doors, definitely self examine.
一粥一饭，当思来之不易；半丝半缕，恒念物力维艰。
One porridge one rice, should think come not easy; half silk half thread, always remember thing efforts difficult.
宜未雨而绸缪，勿临渴而掘井。
Should before rain prepare roof, not face thirst then dig well.
自奉必须俭约，宴客切勿留连。
Self expense should be controlled, feast guest should not enlong.
器具质而洁，瓦缶胜金玉；饮食约而精，园蔬愈珍馐。
Utensils quality & clean, pottery better than gold & jade; drinks & foods control & variety, garden vegetables better than exotic dishes.
勿营华屋，勿谋良田。
Not build beautiful houses, not scheme for good farmlands.
三姑六婆，实淫盗之媒；婢美妾娇，非闺房之福。
Busybody woman, actually adultery & stealing middlemen; female servants & wives beautiful, not bedroom of happiness.
童仆勿用俊美，妻妾切忌艳妆。
Servant boys not use handsome, wives not ask them heavy makeup.
宗祖虽远，祭祀不可不诚；子孙虽愚，经书不可不读。
Ancestors although long ago, praying cannot not sincere; offsprings although stupid, Scriptures & books cannot not study.
局身务期俭朴，教子要有义方。
Administer daily routines thrifty, educate children must have correct formulas.
勿贪意外之财，勿饮过量之酒。
Not greedy accident money, not drink over excess alcohols.
与肩挑贸易，勿占便宜；见贫苦亲邻，须加温恤。
Trade with labourers, not take advantage; see poor hardship relatives & neighbours, should add warm caring.
刻薄成家，理无久享；伦常乖舛，立见消亡。
Stingy build home, by right should not last long; against virtues, immediately disappear die.
兄弟叔侄，须分多润寡；长幼内外，宜法肃辞严。
Brothers uncles & cousins, need give more benefits; elder & junior inside & outside, maintain rules strict & speech strict.
听妇言，乖骨肉，岂是丈夫？
Hear female words, separate blood kins, is it male gentleman?
重资财，薄父母，不成人子。
Value money, stingy the parents, not worthy of being sons.
嫁女择佳婿，勿索重聘；娶媳求淑女，勿计厚奁。
Marry off daughter select good son-in-law, not ask for heavy dowry; get daughter-in-law ask for good lady, not think of heavy dowry.
见富贵而生谄容者，最可耻；遇贫穷而作骄态者，贱莫甚。
See riches & born flattery expressions, is most shameful; meet poor & do proud expressions, is most despicable.
居家戒争讼，讼者终凶；处世戒多言，言多必失。
Live in homes must not court cases, court cases person finally failure; in world must not speak more, speak more definitely mis-speak.
勿恃势力，而凌逼孤寡；勿贪口腹，而恣杀牲禽。
Not use power, & bully lonely widows; not greed mouth taste, & anyhow kill animals.
乖僻自是，悔悟必多；颓惰自甘，家道难成。
Weird & self centered, regrets definitely many; give-up lazy self admit defeat, family Tao (way) difficult become.
狎昵恶少，久必受其累；屈志老成，急则可相依。
Close to bad boys, long definitely get into trouble; with humble ambition & long time accomplishment people, when in need can depend.
轻听发言，安知非人之谮诉，当忍耐三思；因事相争，焉知非我之不是，须平心暗想。
Easily listen people, how know not people slandering, should endure rethink; because things quarrel, know not is it your fault, need calm heart hidden think.
实惠勿念，受恩莫忘。
Give gratitude not think, take gratitude not forget.
凡事当留余地，得意不宜再往。
All things should leave spare space, successful do not over.
人有喜庆，不可生妒嫉心；人有祸患，不可生喜幸心。
People have happy things, not have jealous heart; people have bad things, not have happy heart.
善欲人见，不是真善；恶恐人知，便是大恶。
Good want people see, is not real good; evil afraid people know, is then big evil.
见色而起淫心，报在妻女；匿怨而用暗箭，祸延子孙。
See female & born adultery heart, effect on wife & daughter; resent hatred & hidden hurt people, disasters spread to offsprings.
家门和顺，虽饔飧不继，亦有余欢；国课早完，即囊橐无余，自得至乐。
Family smooth happy, even 3 meals not certain, still have excess happiness; income tax pay finish, even pockets empty, self get utmost happy.
读书志在圣贤，非徒科第；为官心存君国；岂计身家。
Study ambition on becoming Sage & Sub-Sage, not examination results; become official heart should have emperor & country, how can for self family.
守分安命，顺时听天；为人若此；庶乎近焉。
Content on duties & life, according time listen Heaven; if person like that, almost reach good state.
