老君曰：
Lao Zi:
大道无形，生育天地。
Big Tao (way) no appearance, give born Heaven & Earth.
大道无情，运行日月。
Big Tao (way) no emotion, move action sun & moon.
大道无名，长养万物。
Big Tao (way) no name, rear big all things.
吾不知其名，强名曰：「道。」
I do not know its name, no choice called it: "Tao (way)."
夫道者。
My Tao (way).
有清有浊，有动有静。
Have clean have dirty, have move have quiet.
天清地浊，天动地静。
Heaven clean Earth dirty, Heaven move Earth quiet.
男清女浊，男动女静。
Male clean female dirty, male move female quiet.
降本流末，而生万物。
Come down original flow extreme, & born all things.
清者，浊之源。
Clean, dirty of source.
动者，静之基。
Move, quiet of foundation.
人能常清静，天地悉皆归。
Person can always clean quiet, Heaven & Earth all return to.
夫人神好静，而心扰之。
Female Shen (concentration) love quiet, but heart trouble with.
人心好静，而欲牵之。
Person heart love quiet, but desire lead force with.
常能遣其欲，而心自静。
Always able instruct the desire, & heart self quiet.
澄其心，而神自清，自然六欲不生，三毒消灭。
Clear the heart, & Shen (concentration) self clean, naturally 6 desires not born, 3 poisons gone disappear.
所以不能者，惟心未澄，欲未遣也。
Therefore not able person, only heart not clear, desire not instruct with.
能遣之者。
Able instruct with.
内观其心，心无其心。
Inside observe the heart, heart no the heart.
外观其形，形无其形。
Outside observe the appearance, appearance no the appearance.
远观其物，物无其物。
Far observe the things, thing no the thing.
三者既悟，惟见于空。
3 things all enlighten, only see nothingness.
观空亦空，空无所空。
Observe nothingness is nothingness, nothingness no the nothingness.
所空既无，无无亦无。
All that nothingness is nothing, nothing nothing is nothing.
无无既无，湛然常寂。
Nothing nothing is then nothing, become always quiet.
寂无所寂，欲岂能生？
Quiet no what quiet, desire how can born?
欲既不生，即是真静。
Desire since not born, is then real quiet.
真常应物，真常得住。
Real always treat things, real always get hold.
常应常静，常清静矣。
Always treat always quiet, always clean quiet.
如此清静，渐入真道。
Like this clean quiet, slowly enter real Tao (way).
既入真道，名为得道。
Then enter real Tao (way), is named get Tao (way).
虽名得道，实无所得。
Although named get Tao (way), actually no what get.
为化众生，名为得道。
For teaching common beings, is named get Tao (way).
能悟之者，可传圣道。
Able enlighten this, able transfer learn Sage Tao (way).

Lao Zi:
上士无争，下士好争。
Upper Gentleman no competition, lower gentleman love competition.
上德不德，下德执德。
Upper virtue do not stress virtue, lower virtue fixed on virtue.
执着之者，不明道德。
Fixed on with person, do not understand Tao (way) & virtues.
众生所以不得真道，惟有妄心。
Common being why do not get real Tao (way), only because illusion heart.
既有妄心，即惊其神。
Since have illusion heart, then scare move the Shen (concentration).
既惊其神，即着万物。
Since scare move the Shen (concentration), then fixed on all things.
既着万物，即生贪求，既生贪求，即是烦恼。
Since fixed on all things, then born greed to get, since born greed to get, then born heart troubles.
烦恼妄想，忧苦身心，便遭毒欲，流浪生死。
Heart troubles & illusion thinking, trouble sufferings the body heart, then get poison desires, wandering in born & death.
常沉苦海，永失真道。
Always sink in sufferings sea, forever lose real Tao (way).
真常之道，悟者自得。
Real always of Tao (way), enlightened Person self get.
得悟道者，常清静矣。
Get enlightened Tao (way) Person, always clean quiet.
